The Philadelphia Legal Secretaries Association (PLSA) is a nonsectarian, nonpartisan, nonprofit, and nonunion organization of legal secretaries and support staff. It is affiliated with NALS . . . the association for legal professionals, which is dedicated to enhancing the competencies and contributions of members in the legal services profession.


President's Message - February 2012

Happy February Greetings Members and Friends! Ah February, fewer days, eternal hope that Spring is around the corner, Valentine's Day, and of course, President's Day. It is also another great month for PLSA with all it has to offer it's members and visitors. On February 1 at 5:30 PM the PLSA Board will be having it's monthly meeting at the offices of Reed Smith LLP and all members are welcome to attend. On February 14 at 12:30 PM at the offices of Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller, PLSA will be hosting it's February Lunch-N-Learn entitled "Roth IRAs vs. Conventional IRAs." If you were ever confused between the two or just wanted more information, then you don't want to miss this exciting seminar. Plus, I'm sure you will be so excited to spend Valentine's Day with us and you won't have to worry about over-crowded and over-priced restaurants during lunchtime. On February 15, at the offices of Reed Smith LLP at 5:30 PM we will be having our Nominations & Elections Dinner Meeting followed by Legal Jeopardy! This is a very important night for PLSA, as we vote for our in-coming 2012-2013 officers. Someone once said "change is inevitable . . . except from a vending machine" . . . so frustrating and yet so true. Change is not always frustrating. Oftentimes it brings refreshing ideas and brighter perspectives. That is our hope for you with a new "team" being elected.

PLSA is always looking for ways to challenge, entertain, and provide support for its members. We look forward to another month to be able to provide that for you. NALS is a three-tiered organization comprised of the national, state, and local levels.
