President's Message - January 2012

Greetings PLSA Members and Friends. I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year celebration with family and friends. I find it very hard to believe that it's January already, but yes it has arrived. From the look of things, it doesn't really feel like a ton of snow will be falling any time soon. Although, given the past weather uncertainties, a foot or more could come down with a "thud" any minute now. We can't let the 60 degree weather days fool us.
January brings many exciting events for PLSA. Wednesday, January 4th is our first Board Meeting of 2012 at Reed Smith LLP. On January 10th at 12:30 pm at the offices of Pepper Hamilton LLP, we will sponsor our first Lunch-n-Learn of 2012 entitled "Hone Your Skills in Word 2007/2010 - Get Your Swerve On! Unlock the Power of Merge". It promises to be an exciting seminar given by Barbara Belk, Learning and Applications Support Specialist at Pepper Hamilton LLP. We also have a dinner meeting this month, January 18th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the offices of DLA Piper LLP entitled "Personal Injury - What is my Case Worth" which will be presented by Thomas W. Sheridan, Esq. of Sheridan & Murray. Flyers for these events and more are posted on our website and are open to members and non-members alike within the legal community. We hope you can join us for one or maybe both of January's educational seminars. I look forward to seeing you there.
As we look back over all we have accomplished in 2011, let us take a moment to look to the future and what it holds for us. In a world where the horizon is ever changing at a faster pace as each year goes by, take a moment to decide what you wish to accomplish in 2012. Your goal and your vision will be a source of great pride come December 2012 when you realize you've met your challenges head on. Whether those goals are professional or personal, tackle them with satisfaction and pride. Wishing you a happy and prosperous 2012 . . . 'til next time . . .
Sincerely,
Flora Yarnall

Thomas W. Sheridan, Esquire
Sheridan & Murray
Have you or someone you know been an injured party due to a defective product? Product liability encompasses a number of legal claims that allow an injured party to recover. The claims most commonly associated with product liability are negligence, strict products liability, breach of warranty and various consumer protection claims. Each type of product liability claim requires different elements to be proven to present a successful claim. Join us as Mr. Sheridan presents one of his successful product liability claim cases.
