The Philadelphia Legal Secretaries Association (PLSA) is a nonsectarian, nonpartisan, nonprofit, and nonunion organization of legal secretaries and support staff. It is affiliated with NALS . . . the association for legal professionals, which is dedicated to enhancing the competencies and contributions of members in the legal services profession.
President's Message - May 2012
Greetings PLSA members and friends. As I sit and compose this message, I have a feeling of pride and accomplishment that still lingers from PLSA's Administrative Professionals Day Dinner and Installation of Officers which took place on April 25 at the DoubleTree Hilton in Philadelphia. It was an amazing night as we reflected on the accomplishments of the 2011-2012 term with pride and a sense of self satisfaction. Officers and committee chairs were recognized for their outstanding contributions to their respective positions, the community and their overall support of PLSA and it's members. New officers for the 2012-2013 term were installed by Rita Ann Gilson, PP, PLS and she wished them success and continued growth as they go forward and fulfill their objectives for which this association was organized. PLSA's theme for the coming year is "Write the Vision - Pursuit of Excellence" and our keynote speaker for the evening, the Honorable Magdeline D. Coleman, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge, inspired us to go forward and make our mark in the association and our professional lives. As we said "goodbye" to the past year and all the wonderful events and educational programs that PLSA offered for it's members and guests, we anxiously await the coming year for the opportunity to offer more of the same.
Although PLSA will be taking a short break for the summer (June, July and August) before resuming Lunch-n-Learns and educational dinner meetings in September, on May 8 at 12:30 p.m. PLSA will be hosting a Lunch-n-Learn entitled Tribal Sovereign Immunity. The flier for this seminar is on our website and all are welcome to attend. May 13 (Mother's Day) is the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and PLSA will be participating in this event. Our team, "Le'gals", will be walking and if you are interested in joining us, please email me.

Serving as your president this past year has been an amazing journey for me. I thank you all for the opportunity and am truly honored to have been given the privilege to serve once again in the coming year. Many thanks to all.
